Top 10 Airbnb’s in Florence

When visiting Florence, you have to keep in mind that in order to complete my “Top 5” you will have to stay there for at least 3 nights.  The Duomo is close to all the major landmarks, so try to book your accommodations as close to that as possible. If you decide to book using Airbnb, which is highly recommended, be sure to book it at least 6-7 months before your trip. Some Airbnb’s are such a hot commodity that it is recommended to book your stay about 8-9 months in advance.  Also, if you go in the summer, try to book a place with AC. Some of my recommendations do not have AC, but totally worth “Top 10 Material.”

Coming in at number 10 is the “Mona Lisa Loft.” This is where my husband and I stayed. It has been said that the actual Mona Lisa lived in this very building at some point in her life. It is less than a 10 minute walk to the Duomo, about a 15 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio, and about a 10 minute walk from the train station. My husband and I were literally out exploring day and night and this location was perfect to rest up for the next adventure. There is no elevator so you do have to walk up about two fights of stairs with your luggage. It really wasn’t terrible. The shower is also not meant for the tallest person, but it’s manageable. Just thought you should be aware before booking. As of 2018 during the peak season, it is about $120 per night and a 3 night minimum.

Of course I saved the best for last! “The Duomo Attic View Terrace” is simple and stunning. For it’s price and amenities, it’s probably the best Airbnb you could possibly book in all of Florence. You have your own private terrace and the Duomo is literally right there. It’s less than a 15 minute walk from the train station and about a 1 minute walk to the Duomo. There are about 3 flights of steep stairs to get to the top of the apartment, but the end result is so worth it. As of 2018 during the peak season, it is about $190 per night.
